I chose a career in orthopedics because I enjoy working with the active patient population. There is nothing more gratifying than helping patients of all ages return to desired activities following an injury. \n The majority of my clinical work focuses on sports medicine, with an emphasis on injuries of the shoulder and knee. Additionally, I do shoulder reconstruction, including shoulder replacement surgery for both arthritis and complex fractures. \n I take a team-based approach to providing orthopedic care. The team includes the patient, the physician and physical therapists. We work together toward the common goal of providing the highest level of care and best possible outcomes for each patient. \n The foundation for this model is patient education. My goal is to provide each patient with a clear understanding of the diagnosis by reviewing relevant imaging and physical exam findings. We work together to establish the most effective treatment plan, which may include both surgical and nonsurgical options. \n Family is my passion outside of medicine. I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children. We all look forward to beach trips, fishing and most any outdoor activity. I also enjoy running, tennis and an occasional round of golf.
