Macon Citizens for the Handicapped, also known as MCH, is a private, nonprofit organization that provides a variety of support services for individuals with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities. Incorporated in 1982, the organization offers residential services for the citizens of Macon and Jackson counties in North Carolina. It operates several group homes and care centers, as well as coordinates a day program for adults. The organization provides a range of care services for individuals suffering from autism, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, polio and head injuries. It has a staff of more than 70 professionals and maintains over five care facilities. Macon Citizens for the Handicapped s facilities are licensed by the Division of Facility Services. The organization is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
