Little Washington Sailing School, a 501 c3 non-profit organization, has been teaching young people the art of sailing for a decade along the picturesque Washington Waterfront. With a fleet of sixteen 14ft Vanguard 420 sailboats and eight Optimist Prams, students are matched to the right-sized boat to learn seamanship and sailing fundamentals in a safe and supportive environment.
Supported by dedicated sailing enthusiasts and sponsors, the school's U.S. Sailing Association certified instructors instill values of self-reliance, sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect in students. Through donations and sponsorships, the program offers children the opportunity to experience the joy of sailing while fostering a sense of responsibility and leadership on the Pamlico River.
