I began my journey to an advanced practice provider as a certified nursing assistant in 2003. I became a registered nurse in 2005. I have loved being a nurse in various settings including women and children’s health, perioperative services, wound care and adult intensive care unit (ICU). I valued the experience that years in nursing afforded me and desired to reach beyond that potential. The natural next step was to become a family nurse practitioner. I am honored and count it a privilege to care for members of our community in this role. My approach to care is heavily patient centered. I believe that successful care stems from creating and facilitating meaningful trust and relationships with patients and their families. With this approach, we can create small goals that are stepping stones which pave the way to better outcomes. I absolutely love that in my rural clinic setting I am afforded the opportunity to care for patients from what I like to call “womb to tomb”. I offer and enjoy prenatal care through geriatrics. This allows me to truly care for the whole family. I am passionate about providing empathetic and holistic care for the members of this community with a smile and a listening ear. Outside of work, I am most content when surrounded by my family. Though we have a wonderful permanent home, my family often says home is wherever we are together. I have been married for over two decades to my high school sweetheart and we have two wonderful daughters. In terms of interests, I love to read. A great book can take you on extraordinary journeys..
