Founded in 1952, the Grifton Volunteer Fire Department provides fire prevention and life safety services. It has more than 30 members and volunteers from a variety of fields, including business owners, college instructors, bus drivers, custodians, insurance executives, highway workers, career firefighters and administrators. The department offers online fire safety information. The Grifton Volunteer Fire Department s apparatus include engines, trucks, tankers and generators. It also has emergency systems and provides auxiliary services. The department is a member of the Pitt and Lenoir County Fire Associations and the N.C. State Fireman s Association. It is located in Grifton, N.C.
