History
Dank Burrito began as a passion project by Chef Clarke Merrell. A lover of global street food, Clarke wanted to remix some of his favorites and serve them as 'flavor bombs' -- something burritos and tacos do best. While the approach to cuisine was incendiary, Clarke was serious about the preparation - only the best ingredients made from scratch. To capture this vision as well as our urban-graffiti-90's-hip-hop vibe, we adopted the term 'dank'-- slang for 'high quality.' Dank Burrito launched as a food truck in 2014, winning National Food Truck Rookie of the Year. An instant success, we opened a fixed location in Morehead City in 2015, then in Raleigh in 2019. Today, we serve our explosive flavors to Danksters by the thousands. While the Dank Nation thrives and expands, we keep the same stubborn commitment to excellence and creativity that inspired our very first burrito. Classic but never basic, irreverent, never casual, Dank Burrito is the irresistible favorite you never saw coming.
