Founded in 1948, the Cherokee Historical Association is a nonprofit organization that provides a variety of cultural programs. It is responsible for the preservation and protection of the history of the Cherokee heritage. The organization produces an outdoor drama, Unto These Hills, which depicts the cultural identity of the Cherokee citizens, as well as features a cast of more than 100 performers with over 350 varieties of costumes. The Cherokee Historical Association additionally operates the Oconaluftee Village, which is a living history site hat shows about the daily life, government, traditional trades, war fare and hunting techniques of the Cherokee clan. The organization offers membership options, as well as provides group and individual reservations services. It also offers online ticketing services.
