History

The High Point Arts Council was founded in 1962. The Arts Council is a united arts council with five affiliated arts organizations. In 2012, the Arts Council purchased what is now known as the Centennial Station Arts Center. The Arts Center is a renovated freight train station that was built in the 1930s. There are rehearsal studios, two art galleries and a dinner theatre with a dance floor, catering kitchen and fully stocked bar.
