Carolina Apothecary was originally established in 1945 as a pharmacy. The company expanded in 1979 and again in 1989 to offer home medical equipment and supplies. Its range of home medical equipment includes oxygen, nebulizers, hospital beds, scooters and lift chairs, wheelchairs, diabetic supplies, compression stockings and breastfeeding solutions. In April 1996, Carolina Apothecary moved into a 9,000-square-foot building, which houses a retail pharmacy and more space for sales and display of home medical equipment. The company employs more than 70 people. Carolina Apothecary serves Rockingham County, N.C., from its headquarters in Reidsville, N.C., and a location in Eden, N.C.
