Camp Tekoa is engaged in ministry for the purpose of touching hearts, changing lives and sharing the light of Jesus Christ. The camp owned and operated by the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. It is co-ed and offers overnight camping for rising third through 12th graders and day camp for rising first through sixth graders. Campers are able to participate in activities such as swimming, fishing, canoeing, paddle boating and zip line, as well as a host of sports and arts and crafts activities. Camp Tekoa is also an ideal spot to conduct group conferences and retreats, and has been host to church group retreats, church picnics, school and community groups, college retreats, specialty camps for older adults, young adults and the developmentally challenged. Camp Tekoa is fully accredited by the American Camping Association, and is a member of Christian Camping International. The camp maintains campus in Hendersonville, N.C.
