Brevard Fire Department protects the people, property and environment of the Brevard community through prevention, education, fire suppression, hazard mitigation, and other related emergency and nonemergency services. The department is trained and equipped to handle residential, commercial, industrial, transportation, and wild land and urban interface fires. It serves residential, commercial, industrial and rural populations with more than four engines, two tankers, a heavy rescue unit, and Brush Unit. The department provides fire and life safety education to various groups and organizations, including public and private schools, daycare centers, health care facilities, and Brevard College, businesses, civic groups. Brevard Fire Department also offers group tours, in-house educational sessions and personalized programs. It is headquartered in Brevard, N.C.
