Founded in 1969, Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County is a nonprofit organization that serves youths between the ages of 6 and 18. It offers programs related to character and leadership development, fitness and career. The organization additionally offers sports, health and life skill development and educational programs. It provides SMART Moves, which is a prevention program designed to reduce tobacco, alcohol and drug use .The organization also provides homework assistance and tutoring services. It provides public service and leadership opportunities for older club members. Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County is a part of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, which is a national network of more than 3,500 neighborhood-based facilities. Boys & Girls Clubs of Pitt County maintains a location in Winterville, N.C.
