I chose to become an advanced practice provider because I like learning about people, their behavior and their motivations. I also like the challenge of medicine in its complexity and also changing nature. Being a physician assistant nicely combines these two interests. My approach to patient care is to try to take the time to listen to the patient and their concerns, and I like to partner with my patients in shared decision making for cultivating treatment plans. My areas of clinical interest include mental health and substance abuse, weight-loss management, womens health, and preventive care. Outside of work, I like to hike, read, travel and take care of all of my pets.
