The Winslow Chemical Laboratory, located on the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute campus in Troy, New York, was constructed in 1866 and named after the 5th President of RPI, John F. Winslow, who generously contributed to its construction costs. The building, designed by Professor Henry B. Nason, housed complete courses in general and analytical chemistry, accommodating up to 40 students.
Following a history of fire damage and subsequent renovations, the laboratory was repurposed into a shop before being leased to house the Junior Museum in 2000. Today, the Winslow Building is home to various research groups affiliated with the Cognitive Science and Computer Science departments of Rensselaer, including the Rensselaer AI and Reasoning Lab, the Social and Behavioral Research Laboratory, and the Tetherless World Constellation.
