Established in 1889, William Cullen Bryant High School is an educational institution that serves more than 3,000 students in grades 9 through 12. The school offers classes in English, math, science, social studies, and health and physical education. It provides guidance counseling and English as Second Language programs. William Cullen Bryant High School also hosts sessions in several foreign languages, such as Italian, Latin, Spanish, Chinese, German, French and Greek. In addition, the school operates a parent-teacher association. Its library media center stocks a selection of books and reference materials. William Cullen Bryant High School offers membership options for the Asian Youth Association, as well as Tibetan and writing clubs. The school additionally provides several types of sports activities, including baseball, bowling, football, golf and cross-country. It is governed by the New York City Department of Education.
