The Westchester County District Attorney s office, located in White Plains, N.Y., oversees prosecution cases in Westchester County. The district attorney is empowered to prosecute cases on the behalf of the government and its people, and sets the bar for all law enforcement. The office has a staff of more than 230 comprising the district attorney, assistant district attorneys, investigators and support personnel. It works with more than 40 local police departments, the Westchester Department of Public Safety, New York State Police and other state and federal law enforcement agencies. The district attorney s office is organized into five divisions. The divisions comprise the superior court trial division, local criminal courts and grand jury division, appeals and special litigation division, and investigations division and special prosecutions division. The superior court trial division consists of seven bureaus, including homicide, major case, narcotics trial, general trial, career criminal, sex crimes and pleadings.
