Dr. Wallace Carter is a professor of clinical emergency medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is also Vice Chair of Clinical and Faculty Affairs in the Department of Emergency Medicine.Dr. Carter received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies in 1986. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. Following his residency, Dr. Carter completed an internship in internal medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx, NY, and an internship in surgery at Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut.Over the course of his career, Dr. Carter has trained more than three hundred emergency physicians and continues to mentor his graduates many of whom have gone on to prestigious positions.He currently leads operational, patient experience and quality improvement initiatives within the Department of Emergency Medicine; collaborates with ED nursing leadership, physicians and advanced practice providers to ensure the delivery of high-quality emergency care; and oversees all faculty compliance for the Department.Dr. Carter is board certified in emergency medicine. He practices at NewYork-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center and NYP-Lower Manhattan Hospital.
