Established in 1965, Vivian Beaumont Theater is center for performing arts and entertainment. Located in New York, N.Y., the theater stages a variety of new as well as classic performances year round. The entertainment facility is a part of Lincoln Center Theater, one of the leading community service theaters in the United States. The organization through its tours, telecasts, films, publications and recordings reaches audiences across the United States and around the world. Its programs include the Directors Lab, a developmental symposium for new and emerging artists; Open Stages, an arts-in-education program operated in cooperation with New York City public schools and Lincoln Center Theater Review, a literary journal available in the theater's lobbies and distributed to area schools and libraries. Additionally, the theater regularly offers special performances for the hearing impaired audiences.
