United Martial Arts Centers (UMAC) Briarcliff is located in a bright, spacious building on North State Road. Master Chris Berlow established this Briarcliff dojang in 1999. It features programs for children, adults and families and has a friendly, positive and structured approach that strives to build self-confidence while developing skills. The center's 7,400 square feet of space easily accomodate its large after-school program, which provides transportation from local schools. The after-school program includes martial arts training as well as homework time in a dedicated space upstairs. UMAC is open on all school days, except for major holidays, including days when schools are closed for a half- or full day. UMAC Briarcliff also offers a summer day camp program, which includes arts & crafts, games and field trips, in addition to martial arts classes. The center has four Master Instructors, including Master Berlow, one Senior Instructor and 10 Instructors. "We help students develop the confidence and personal power to accomplish everything and anything they set out to do," Master Berlow says.
