Troy Dickinson, DO is a family practitioner caring for patients ages 7 and older with a sub-specialty in non-operative sports medicine. Dr. Dickinson received his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is board-certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians and American Osteopathic Board of Sports Medicine. He is also a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, American Osteopathic Board Association of Sports Medicine, American College of Osteopathic Family Practitioners, and the Long Island Society of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.Dr. Dickinsons philosophy is to treat every patient as if they were family and educate them about their diagnosis, and thinks the most important aspect of a patient visit is that they leave the office understanding the reason behind their visit. He is passionate about educating people about the importance of getting vaccinated in order to decrease the likelihood of contracting a potentially debilitating disease.He decided to pursue medicine after his grandmother passed away from complications from diabetes, amputations and dementia. He wanted to become a physician to help other people avoid similar situations. I enjoy being able to affect peoples lives for the better. If I am able to help just one person the entire day, its a good day, says Dr. Dickinson.When not practicing medicine, Dr. Dickinson enjoys boating, sporting event and watching his children compete in college level lacrosse.
