Founded in 1864, Tompkins County Public Library is located in Ithaca, N.Y. The library offers a variety of material for children, students and adults. It has a collection of books, magazines, newspapers, CDs, DVDs, cassettes and videos. It contains titles in more than 20 foreign languages, such as French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Khmer, Korean and Vietnamese. The library provides books on various subjects, including literature, science and history. It also operates clubs and organizations that conduct story sessions, reading programs, book reviews, and fun and leisure activities. In addition, the library has meeting rooms to host a range of events, such as board meetings, business conferences and social events. Tompkins County Public Library is a part of Finger Lakes Library System.
