History
The oldest portion of the building is shown on an 1785 map as a tavern and inn. In about 1815 the large front portion was added and in 1882 the large side wing was added. It's been a hotel, restaurant and retail spaces for it's entire history but, as the economy of the Catskills degraded, the building was not maintained for may years. However, we are now gradually renovating as time and money becomes available.
Specialties
The Historic Hobart Inn, the newest part of which is 135 years old, has nine rooms for rent, one week minimum, a restaurant and an antique shop. It, unfortunately, was ignored for almost 50 years and the renovation is on going. Located in the beautiful Catskill Mountains in the village of Hobart, the Book Village of the Catskills.
