Founded in 1921, The Association of Junior Leagues International provides continuity, support, guidance and leadership development opportunities for more than 290 members throughout Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the United States. It is a nonprofit organization that works towards promoting volunteerism and community improvement. The association works through regional, national and international meetings and customized consultations. The Association of Junior Leagues International is governed by a more than 15-member board of directors and is also responsible for promoting literacy and educational programs, as well as builds cultural and recreational facilities. It publishes recipe books, including Celebration Cookbook , Centennial Cookbook and The Junior League at Home . The Association of Junior Leagues International maintains one of its locations in New York City.
