The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, also known as AADA, is the only degree-granting school of acting in the United States. The academy offers practical and professional training for stage, film and television. Its highly structured program focuses on acting, voice and speech, and movement, with an emphasis on self-discipline, self-discovery and individuality. At each stage of development, students classroom knowledge is tested through onstage performances. AADA alumni have won more than 70 Oscars, 200 Emmys and approximately 60 Tony nominations. The academy has campuses in New York City and Los Angeles.
