Teachers Retirement System
Established in 1917, Teachers Retirement System of the City of New York is one of the largest pension systems operating in the United States, with more than $30 billion in assets. The system provides eligible New York City educators with retirement, disability and death benefits. It offers a wide range of services, such as service retirement allowances, tax-deferred annuity participation, loans, disability coverage, and death benefits. Its TDA program provides long-term investment plans, and opportunities to invest funds in a combination of its investment programs, including fixed, variable, and annuity programs. The center also offers various loans available under its qualified pension plan and TDA program. It additionally provides educational programs designed to help members understand the retirement process, benefits and services offered, and the TDA program. Located in New York City, the center provides benefit estimation services and personal account statements to its clients.
