History
Established in 1962 by Elaine and Herbert Haas, Talas became the first company in the US to serve the museum and library community with hand bookbinding and conservation supplies. Today the Salik family continues to operate Talas as a family run business, serving institutions, companies, and individuals around the world with the highest quality supplies and materials available. Centered on customer service and a small business approach, we are continually expanding our product line to meet market trends and our customers' demands. Let our professional supplies and service compliment your needs.
Specialties
TALAS is more than your average art supply store. We specialize in sourcing high quality art conservation, art restoration and bookbinding materials from around the globe. Come to us for a variety of acid-free adhesives and glues, archival storage materials, fine art and decorative papers, bookbinding fabrics and leather, museum and mat boards, paints and pigments, and cleaning supplies for restoring among a long list of other materials. We offer custom services from cutting paper and boards to building archival boxes for all of your wedding dresses, collectibles, memorabilia, photographs and more! TALAS operates primarily as a mail order and e-commerce business, but we do have a showroom where customers can browse sample books, showcases, and purchase materials. We also urge you take a look at our website, which offers the same selection of materials - with the option to pickup in store! Contact us, we are happy to assist.
