Syracuse University offers a variety of degree programs, certificates and noncredit courses with 11 schools and colleges located approximately 250 miles northwest of New York City in the center of New York State. Syracuse serves a multicultural blend of 100 staff members and 8,000 part-time and summer students during each calendar year. Approximately 500 students complete their part-time studies through UC each year. Upstate Cerebral Palsy presented the Leadership Institute at Syracuse University with a community partner award. Upstate is a provider of direct-care services and programs for individuals who are physically, developmentally, or mentally challenged and their families. The Leadership Institute was founded in 2001 as a University outreach program to academic, business, and non-profit organizations.
