History
I began leading public foraging tours in NYC parks with a handful of participants, but after getting arrested for eating a dandelion in Central Park by undercover park rangers, my business mushroomed. The huge amount of national and international publicity the arrest created forced the Parks Dept. to turn over a new leaf. They negotiated with me, dropped the charges, and hired me to lead the same tours for which I was arrested. I worked for them from 1986 to 1990, going back to freelance work when the administration changed. I've done a huge amount of work with children's groups, such as school classes, day camps, scout troops, and birthday parties since then. I'm now working on my fourth book and updating my app.
