Founded in 1955, St. John s Academy, earlier known as St. John the Baptist Parish School, is a Catholic school that offers lunch and after-school programs. The academy has a parent-teacher guild that encourages parents participation in school meetings and activities. It has more than 60 desktop computers with high-speed Internet access. St. John's Academy also offers enrichment classes that feature various activities, such as sign language, dance, sports, quilting, sewing, woodworking, arts and crafts and cooking.
