Southampton Village, which incorporated in 1894, traces its roots back to the settlement of Southampton in 1640. Village Hall houses the mayor's office, village administrator, tax receiver, treasurer and boardroom. The zoning board of appeals, board of architectural review and historic preservation, planning board, planning commission and board of trustees all meet here. Village Hall was completed in 1917, and the second and third floors have been unoccupied since 2002, when the village police department moved to Windmill Lane. Mark Epley serves as mayor.
