Silver Lake Head Start is early childhood care program that serves more than 1,300 children annually. It provides special needs screening, medical care and social support services. Silver Lake Head Start is a center- and home-based program that is part of the national program providing preschool educational services for children between the ages of 3 and 5. It works for the development of children in social, emotional, linguistic, cognitive and physical domains. The program also focuses on age-appropriate social and academic activities, as well as nutrition, health and safety-related information. Additionally, it includes science and language arts in its educational curriculum.
