Located in Rochester, N.Y., Seneca Park Zoo Society is a nonprofit organization that was established in 1957 and provides educational programs, fundraising and special events, and public relations support to Monroe County s Seneca Park Zoo. The zoo offers public exhibitions of various animals, including amphibians, birds, fish, invertebrates, mammals and reptiles. Its animal health and education complex contains classrooms, a conference center, veterinary offices, a hospital and children's interactive play area. It offers a variety of conservation projects for turtles, snails, butterflies and penguins. The zoo shop offers various gifts, animal figurines, books, plush animals, scrapbooks, toys, T-shirts and ties. Additionally, it offers various educational programs for teachers, parents and children, including family programs, scouting, camping, newsletters, guided tours, animal presentations and themed programs for school-aged children, adult and large groups.
