Owned by the Brewer Capri Marina, the Sands Point Seaplane Base is a landing area for seaplanes. The base is located in Manhasset Bay about two miles northwest of the Port Washington central business district. The FAA location identifier is 7N3.The Sands Point Seaplane Base is open to the public.
Begun in 1948, the base was used for the Boeing 314 Seaplane (also known as the Yankee Clipper) during the 1930s before the Marine Air Terminal opened.
All landings must be made 2000 feet from shore unless there is an emergency.
