Founded in 1960, The Puerto Rican Family Institute is a nonprofit, health and human service agency that is dedicated to serve the Latino community. It is an antipoverty program that is dedicated to improve the live of Puerto Rican migrant families in New York City. The Puerto Rican Family Institute provides crisis intervention, placement prevention, residential care, educational and mental health treatment services. The agency operates more than 20 programs in the continental United States, as well as Puerto Rico. The Puerto Rican Family Institute also specializes in providing case management and Head Start programs, as well as foster care placement and HIV/AIDS prevention services. It maintains one of its locations in the Bronx, N.Y.
