Established in 1946, the Pompey Hill Fire Department is a public safety agency and coordinates responses to fire, police and medical emergencies. The department preserves and protects residents lives and their properties. It offers a full line of management services, such as conducting annual disaster exercises; coordinating the planning and preparedness activities of the city government; and preparing and maintaining a resource inventory. The Pompey Hill Fire Department maintains a fleet of ladder trucks, tankers, rescue vehicles and engines. The department employs firefighters, volunteers, technicians and paramedics. It conducts fire extinguisher training, child car seat inspections and juvenile fire-setter educational sessions. The department maintains a location in Pompey, N.Y.
