The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District is the administrative arm for Plainview Old-Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School, two middle schools, four elementary schools and a kindergarten center. The district's superintendent is Gerard W. Dempsey, Jr. The district traces its roots to a one-room schoolhouse on Manneto Hill Road in 1899. The Board of Education meets on the first and third Mondays of each month.
