CST Technologies was founded in 1990 for the purpose of manufacturing, marketing and selling a line of synthetic bases designed primarily to be a substitute for human or animal serum to make synthetic calibrators and controls. These products were designed to be neutral, extremely stable and mimic certain aspects of serum. The first products developed were SeraSub (synthetic serum) and UriSub (synthetic urine) for use in making synthetic controls in serum and urine assays respectively. These products are being used by in-vitro diagnostic manufacturers throughout the world to avoid the lot-to-lot, stability and potential health problems posed by human or animal serum-based products. CST s product line is manufactured using a GNP Certified process. The company is based in Great Neck, N.Y.
