The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children is a child protection agency located in New York, N.Y. Founded in 1875, the society offers mental health, legal and educational programs to protect children from harm and ensure their healthy development. It also helps children to recover from enduring physical, sexual abuse, family violence, parental substance abuse or mental illness. Additionally, the agency provides resiliency restoration training to the New York City Administration for Children's Services and child welfare agencies to help staffs after traumatic events. It also offers child permanency mediation services to resolve issues that prevent children from leaving the foster care system.
