The Maffei knife sharpening tradition in America spans 5 generations back to 1914 when my great grandfather immigrated to America from Pinzolo, Italy bringing with him the craft of the moleta. He made a living pushing his knife cart through the streets of Boston. Technology has improved our methods over the years so we do it a little different now but our instinctual passion for sharpening remains strong.
