With a location in Lewiston, N.Y., the New York Power Authority operates more than 15 generating facilities and over 1,400 circuit miles of transmission lines. The authority develops energy technologies and electric vehicles. It provides energy efficiency programs for local, county and state government facilities, as well as public schools and university campuses. The New York Power Authority offers services to develop various technologies, such as fuel cells, solar photovoltaic systems and microturbines. The authority also participates in institutional research at state and national levels. In addition, it provides technology development programs for electricity transmission, energy storage, distributed generation, and equipment monitoring and diagnostics.
