The council headquarters for Boy Scouts of America in Nassau county is located in Massapequa. It is officially known as the Theodore Roosevelt Council. At this location is the area Scout store, open everyday but Sunday. There is also a Scout Museum located in the same offices, and it is open Monday through Friday and admission is free. An interesting fact is that this specific council is one of the oldest, dating back to 1917.
This council is broken up into four districts: the Iroquois, which covers SW Nassau County; the Pequott district , which covers SE Nassau county; the Rough Rider district, which covers Central Nassau county; and the Shelter Rock district, which covers Northern Nassau county.
