The Nassau County Firefighters Museum and Education Center is an interactive facility where you can experience first-hand the job of a firefighter. Trace the history of firefighting in Nassau County through hands-on exhibits that feature fire apparatus and gear of today and yesterday.
Currently, the museum is working on a 5,000 square-foot expansion, which will double the size of the current museum.
The expansion will be done in three phases; Phase I includes a new area to display historical county apparatus. Several cases will be dedicated to memorabilia as well. And with help from the 71 Nassau County Volunteer Fire Departments, a pictorial exhibit of major fires in Nassau County is on display.
Enjoy interactive galleries like Call 911, Crawl Low in Smoke, Stop-Drop-Roll, Home Escape Planning and much more! Learn how to protect you and your property from a fire.
