History
I became a fan of massage therapy while recovering from a college football injury to my neck and shoulder. The injury left me in pain and at times unable to move my neck and arm. Years later I felt like something was missing personally and professionally from my life. One day I opened spam email that talked about massage therapy as a career and found myself at an open house where I enrolled in their program the following week. I began to study massage in 2009. I graduated from New York College of Health Professions with an Associates Degree for Occupational Studies in Massage Therapy in 2011. I have continued to my studies with great instructors like: Myoskeletal Alignment with Dr Erik Dalton, Visceral Manipulation with Dr. Ken Frey, Orthopedic and Sports Massage with James Waslaski and Thomas Myers Anatomy Trains in Structure and Function. In addition I have certifications and experience in Gua Sha for Pain Management and Massage Cupping.
Specialties
MYO referrals to muscle and soft tissue. KINETIC refers to movement. When muscles or other tissues become too tight or too fatigued they will cause compensations in your posture that can lead to pain. Although many clients can fall asleep on our massage table during a session, we don't specialize in fluffy spa type massages. We want to help reduce aches and pains while helping you improve your muscular alignment and posture.
