Located in Newburgh, N.Y., Mount Saint Mary College is one of the leading Catholic educational institutions in the United States. Founded by the Sisters of Saint Dominic of Newburgh, the college has been operational for more than 75 years. Formerly known as Normal and Teacher Training School, it enrolls more than 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. Mount Saint Mary is affiliated with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, American Guild on Education, Associated Colleges of the Mid-Hudson Area, Association of University Women, and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Spread on more than 40,000-square-feet of space, it competes in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and provides various intercollegiate, intramural, club, recreational and varsity sports programs. Additionally, the college also offers a wide variety of student activities, including class governments, clubs and organizations, social events, local trips, films outings, concerts, hikes and ski outings.
