Since 1941, the Mattituck Park District has maintained and enhanced nine properties in Mattituck — beaches, athletic fields, a boat ramp and nature preserves — a total of 73 acres. The properties are private to residents of the park district, which includes parts of Laurel. Guest passes are available for $15.
Mattituck Park District commissioners meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm at the park district's office on Peconic Bay Boulevard on the grounds of Veterans Memorial Park. Work sessions are held the second Monday of each month at 6:30pm.
Residents can vote on the park district budget for the following year in August and for a park district commissioner, whose term is three years, in November.
