about gallery The Mark Humphrey Gallery was established in 1980 as a purveyor of posters, prints, miscellaneous art objects and framing. Over the past 30 years The Gallery has evolved into one of the most respected names in the Hamptons. It was awarded the distinction of being named best gallery in the Hamptons by Hamptons Magazine. Mark Humphrey has strived to provide clients with the opportunity to buy beautiful contemporary works of art that are also viable investments. In carrying artists like Roy Lichtenstein, Alex Katz, Donald Baechler, Helen Frankenthaler, Ross Bleckner and many others, Mark shows some of the most successful artists of the last 50 years. The Gallery also offers artists from the East End a chance to exhibit their work. Mark carries such local artists as Audrey Lee, Louise Peabody, Blair Seagram and many others. The Mark Humphrey Gallery also works with numerous designers and decorators on projects both in the Hamptons and New York City. Mark's expertise in Prints and the Contemporary art market gives him the ability to successfully meet the needs of a high-end clientele. A major part of the behind the scene activity is the art consulting business he has cultivated over the years. He has single-handedly provided the art for major corporations and law firms in New York, and many very large private residences in the Hamptons, working with designers, and privately with the clients. This is his favorite part of the business. Mark's career in Fine Art began early, with his father being a museum director and art consultant. Mark received his BFA from Syracuse University and his MFA from Ohio University, with a summer in between attending Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine'.
