Long Story Short was founded by Georgia Whitney, an award-winning writer and editor with over 20 years of experience writing marketing communications, public relations, and technical documentation for Fortune 50, healthcare, and human service organizations. Georgia brings a unique blend of editorial skills, coaching, and business knowledge to her work. Her projects have ranged from editing robotic technology manuals for a pharmaceutical company to writing parody song lyrics for a Fortune 50 company. She has successfully implemented marketing communications plans for several nonprofit organizations in western New York.
As a resume writer and career coach for Inspire Careers and Innovative Placements, Georgia works with people at all stages of their careers, helping them to advance by recognizing their unique value in the marketplace, building their personal brand, setting attainable career goals, and marketing themselves effectively to reach their goals.
Georgia also writes memoir, short fiction, and life reviews; she facilitates guided autobiography workshops and personal histories. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Pacific Lutheran University, a B.S. in Communications from St. John Fisher College, and has completed Guided Autobiography coursework under gerontologist James Birren.
