Long Island Infant Developmental Program (LIIDP) is a non-profit early intervention and preschool program serving children ages birth to five with special needs. LIIDP began in 1984 and to date has served thousands of families throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties.
Did you know that some of the most important learning that will ever take place happens by the time children are 4 years old? That's when most children learn to walk, to talk with other people and to explore the world around them. Young children learn and grow at individual rates, however if you suspect your child is not developing as he should be, or milestones are not being reached as you thought they would, LIIDP can answer your questions. LIIDP has been helping children (birth-5) with developmental delays for over 25 years.
LIIDP's mission is to bring out every child's maximum developmental potential through dedication and care for each child's special needs. They support the uniqueness of each family and provide them with the tools necessary to facilitate the integration of each child and family into the community. They strive to improve the lives of families who have children with developmental disabilities and delays.
LIIDP provides a full range of evaluation, educational, therapeutic and support services. Services can include special education, special education itinerant teachers (SEIT), speech/language/feeding therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and social work, psychological and nutrition services. Developmental social skills groups and parent support groups are offered as well.
All services are provided at no out-of-pocket costs to eligible families. LIIDP operates with approval and funding from the Nassau and Suffolk County Departments of Health and the NYS Education Department.
