History

Lancaster's first library was organized in 1821 by veterans of the Revolution and the War of 1812. The current building was completed in 1975 and houses approximately 60,000 volumes including a large selection of children's picture books. Special collections available to borrow include: local history, large print, graphic novels and manga, biographies, classic movies, and a range of TV series.
