The Katonah Art Center has been thriving for nearly 15 years and is a haven for artists in Katonah and the surrounding communities. The two-story facility, located in a large Victorian house across from the A&P Shopping Center, houses three painting studios, two pottery studios, a darkroom, a computer lab and a children's art studio. In order to accommodate a wide variety of artists, the center offers classes for students of every age and skill level. Among the many courses offered are painting, sculpture, drawing, pottery, photography, writing, computer art, creative clay, charcoal, portfolio development, cartooning, flash animation, Japanese animation, watercolor and classical oil painting. Under the supervision of owner Lorne Andersen and almost 40 skilled instructors, the Katonah Art Center creates an encouraging atmosphere where each individual student can build on their techniques and further reach their potential.
